Monthly Membership

Join our tight knit ceramic community and find your home away from home. Our studio is home to studio assistants, members, and students. We ask that members make a minimum commitment of 3 months to help us maintain a sense of community and continuity.

You must have taken a 6- or 8-week course at Grounded Earth to be eligible for membership.

Interested in becoming a member?

We review applications on a rolling basis. Our membership is currently full, and we are maintaining a waitlist. If you are interested in becoming a member, please fill out this application linked below. We will keep your application on file and our studio manager Sheilagh will be in touch when space becomes available!

Unlimited Access

Each member will get a personalized door code that will allow you access to the studio 24/7. Pottery night owl? No problem. Pottery early bird? Also no problem. Come and go as you please — we just ask that you’re not in the studio when classes and workshops are running.

Dedicated Shelf Space

Every member gets a dedicated shelf space to store your work, clay, tools, and anything else you like to keep in the studio. Our ware boards fit the shelves perfectly and we provide plastic to cover your pieces while you let them dry.

Access to Clay

The studio offers Laguna stoneware and reclaim clays for sale. We stock B-Mix, Speckled, and Red 80. We reclaim our clay in-house, and sort it into light and dark clays. Clay is purchased via Venmo and operates on an honor system.

Access to Glazes

New glazes coming soon! We currently have a white, off-white, and clear, with more colorful glazes on the way. The studio does provide a base glaze that members can color using mason stains. Members are also able to get personal (but commercial made) glazes approved by the studio manager.

Members Benefits

Firing

The cost of firing is covered in the cost of clay. When your pieces are ready for the bisque, simply put them on the bisque or glaze shelves to be fired. There is one kiln and it runs when enough member and student work has accumulated to fill it.

Communal Space

In addition to a gorgeous making space, the studio also includes a small kitchenette (toaster oven, microwave, small fridge) and an entry way for displaying work. Let us not forget the very comfy studio couch!

Sliding Scale

$175 - $275

We believe art is for everyone, and our sliding scale is a direct reflection of that value. The recommended price for membership covers the essential costs of studio operations and access to materials.

We trust you to use the sliding scale to find a price that works for your budget. By choosing to pay more, you're directly supporting a fellow community member who may not be able to, and you're helping us create a more sustainable and vibrant space for all.
